Owner of Hope House Event Stud in Weston is to represent Britain at the International Young Breeders’ World Championships in Denmark




A 26-year-old woman is to represent Britain at an international championship in Denmark.

Amelia Hope Waterhouse of Hope House Eventing in Weston is to represent the country at the International Young Breeders’ World Championship.

She has been selected to represent the Anglo European Studbook as a member of the Senior British Team between July 4 and 6.

Amelia founded Hope House Eventing Stud and Competition Yard in 2019, shortly after graduating in Finance and Business from Sheffield Hallam University.

She is an accomplished Event Rider with a big competition record.

Hope House foals have consistently achieved Gold Premium Awards at the British Breeding Championships.

The stud yard owner aim is to produce strong, sound horses with correct movement, athleticism, and a kind temperament paired with an intelligent mental aptitude through careful research and assessing conformation of stallions.

“I am extremely honoured and proud to be selected to represent Britain and I look forward to meeting like-minded breeders from all over the world,” said Amelia.

She and her team will take theory exams, assess horse turnout, loose jumping, and conformation, and give in-hand presentations on good breeding practice and their vision of producing happy equine athletes.

The Young Breeders’ World Championships is organised by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses and is an independent and international umbrella organisation of studbooks.

Their mission is to foster breeding progress to produce the best sport horses.
