Emergency services at Sir William Robertson Academy, Welbourn, after collision involving pedestrian and car

Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a student.

Officers from Lincolnshire Police were called to Main Road, Welbourn, outside of the William Robertson Academy at 3.31pm yesterday (Tuesday) after a teenager was in collision with a black Mercedes C Class.

The 18-year-old student from the school, who also lives in the local area, was airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.

A parents evening that was due to go ahead that evening was cancelled.

One parent told the Advertiser that a number of children were being held back at the school for the time being.

Lincolnshire Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of the school on the A607 and either saw the collision or saw the pedestrian or the black Mercedes before the collision by calling 101 and quoting incident number 284 of December 4.
