New shop — LYB Melts & More Ltd opens on 6-8 Cartergate, Newark

A new business is refreshing the odours in Newark as it brings over 600 wax melt fragrances to the market town high street.

Emma Sullivan, of Newark, opened LYB Melts & More Ltd on 6-8 Cartergate, Newark, where the former Vinyl Attraction was before it moved to Kirkgate, Newark.

The opening event, on September 21, was considered a success, with plenty of sales and customers in and out of the shop throughout the day.

Emma decided to bring her products to a physical shop after selling her products for two years through the online platform TikTok at @lyb.melts, now reaching over 4,500 followers on TikTok,

Amy Sullivan, Emma’s daughter and shop’s manager said: “It is surreal to her business come to life, I just feel immensely proud.

“It is so warming to be able to work with your family and see my mum’s dreams and business flourish.”

The shop sells a range of products, focusing on highly scented wax melts made by Emma, as well as bath and body products such as bath bombs, body scrubs, and whipped soaps.

When she first started doing wax melts, Emma was planning to stop at 10 fragrances, however, over the years and after receiving customer requests, the business has now over 600 fragrances.

There will also be electric burners, incense and incense trays, room sprays, and carpet fresheners.

Emma said: “It was a success, it was very busy and people came from everywhere.

“It feels very natural being back in a shop in Newark, I have done this before and am happy to be back.”

The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm.
