Take action now

By NewarkAdvertiser Reporter

Once Marks and Spencer closes its store on Stodman Street, Newark, I doubt it will reopen in any form.

Now is the time for the people of Newark to voice their opinion.

Do not expect the town council to come to your aid — witness the Robin Hood Hotel fiasco that has been ongoing for 12 years and is still not fully resolved.

It is up to the people of Newark to write and petition Marks and Spencer managers before it is too late.

Otherwise, Newark will become another ghost town, just like Grantham, which also lost its Marks and Spencer store.

Newark used to have a thriving market, but see how many empty stalls there are now.

Come on the people of Newark, do something before it is too late.

If you sit back and do nothing, nothing is what you will get. — CHRIS HOBBY, Newark (Full address supplied).
