Elements Green launch targeted consultation for the proposed Great North Road Solar Park plans
A new targeted consultation has been launched on plans for the Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park.
The consultation is being run by developers Elements Green and focuses on a minor increase in land usage related to alternative proposed construction access routes along the public highway.
The plans for the overall scheme were consulted on during a statutory second phase of consultation earlier this year. This latest targeted consultation only relates to additions made to the Preliminary Environmental Information Report Order Limits.
Residents will be able to comment on these additions until Friday, June 6, and additional information can be viewed online by visiting: www.gnrsolar.co.uk
Elements Green state that feedback on the localised additions will be considered in addition to feedback received in the statutory phase two consultation, as part of its Development Consent Order application submission to the Planning Inspectorate, anticipated for summer 2025.
Questions about the consultation or written feedback can be submitted by freepost, at FREEPOST GNR SOLAR, through freephone service, on 08081754054, or via email: info@gnrsolarpark.co.uk
Project director, Mark Noone, said: “We’re committed to delivering Great North Road Solar and Biodiversity Park in a way that brings real benefits.
“This includes supporting both renewable energy generation and sustained agricultural use, while introducing meaningful biodiversity enhancements to improve habitats and strengthen the local ecosystem.
“All with the community and local residents at the heart of our plans.
“These localised additions have been influenced by the feedback we received at our phase two consultation.
“We greatly appreciate all the feedback we received during this phase, and welcome feedback on the localised additions we are consulting on during this targeted consultation.”
