Newark: Teen suffers broken jaw and has teeth wired in hospital after being smacked in face with skateboard in Bingham




A teenager suffered a broken jaw and had his teeth wired in hospital after he was smacked in the face with a skateboard.

The 16-year-old boy was attacked on Fosse Way, Bingham, at 9pm on Tuesday.

Officers investigating the assault arrested a suspect on Wednesday night at an address.

A 21-year-old man has been questioned on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody while inquiries in to the incident continue.

Detective Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a violent attack that left the victim with serious facial injuries.

“I’d like to reassure people we treat all reports involving serious violence extremely seriously and we will investigate them in order to take appropriate action against offenders.”

Anyone who saw the assault or who may have captured dash cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the incident is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 819 of July 27, 2021.
