Newark teenager who studies beauty therapy at Lincoln College is a finalist at the Miss Teen Great Britain grand final.

A teenager from Newark is representing the county in a country-wide competition that celebrates teenagers, their achievements and goals.

Libby Brooks of Newark is representing Nottinghamshire at the grand final of the Miss Teen Great Britain competition.

The 17-year-old who aspires to follow a modeling career and open her own business in the future, was encouraged by her dad to sign up for the competition.

She applied online and after a few letters back and forth, she found out she was one of the chosen candidates to make it to the grand final.

“I couldn’t really believe it, I never expected to get this far,” said Libby.

She added: “Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true, fingers crossed it is now happening.

“I just want to be able to represent my hometown and win the crown.”

Libby is studying beauty therapy at Lincoln College.

She admitted to having to step out of her comfort zone into this opportunity as this was the beginning of something she always dreamed of.

The pageant is dedicated to empowering teenagers to have fun, make friends and create memories.

The grand final weekend includes a beauty queen challenge day, a pyjama diva party and the grand final itself.

She said: “It is just a big accomplishment even if I don’t win, just the fact of being there is so amazing.

“I don’t want to go to the grand final with any expectation but to go and have a good time and meet new people.”

The Miss Teen Great Britain pageant grand final is taking place on October 13, 2024.
