Southwell Fire Station issue warning after reports of teenagers swimming in River Trent at Gunthorpe
A fire crew have warned of the dangers of swimming in open water after teenagers were spotted in the River Trent.
The crew, from Southwell Fire Station, were called to Gunthorpe on Tuesday, September 15, as youths were spotted swimming.
It followed a spell of hot weather earlier in the week.
A spokesman for Southwell Fire Station said: "Thankfully the teenagers were found safe out of the water on arrival and have been educated on the dangers of swimming in waters such as the Trent.
"With the hot weather being forecasted in the coming days, we ask all parents be aware of what their children are up to and ensure they are educated on the hidden dangers the Trent poses, despite looking calm and serene."
