New online punctuality tool claims if you get a train at Newark Northgate there's a near 50% chance of it being late
If you're catching a train from Newark Northgate, there's nearly a 50% chance it will be late, according to a newly-developed online punctuality service.
Staff and rota management software company RotaCloud has created a new tool to establish which train stations have the best, and worst, record for the punctuality of trains.
The company gathered data for all 2,566 of Britain’s railway stations from January 2019 to January 2020, and created the Lateness Checker for commuters to check the punctuality of their trains.
According to the app, in a list of 2,566 train stations, if you’re boarding at Newark Northgate there’s a 44.4% chance that your train will be late.
Newark Northgate ranks 858th in the list of Britain’s least punctual rail stations.
Newark Castle fared better, as there’s a 24.4% chance your train will be late.
It ranked as Britain's 546th most punctual rail station.
According to the Lateness Checker, Cardiff bay is the country's most punctual station, followed by Falmer in East Sussex and Chingford, Essex in third.
The least punctual station is Lancaster, followed by Wakefield Westgate and Durham.
