THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A617 KELHAM ROAD, KELHAM) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2018 (NK121-18)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effects will be in respect of roads at Kelham, Little Carlton and South Muskham in the District of Newark and Sherwood:1. No person shall cause any vehicle to proceed in the following lengths of road: -
II. Kelham Lane, Little Carlton for its whole length.
III. Kelham Lane, South Muskham from its junction with A616 Ollerton Road for a distance of 30 metres in a westerly direction.2. No person shall drive any vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the following length of road:-
I. Ollerton Road, Kelham for its whole length.
The effects of any: -
(a) Order made, or having effect as if made, by the Secretary of State under Section 88 of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), or
(b) Statutory provision under Sections 81 and 82 of the Act, or
(c) Order made, or having effect as if made, by the Council under Sections 82, 83 and 84 of the Act:
are hereby temporarily suspended (for so long as this present Order is enforced) insofar as they relate to any length or lengths of road specified in Article 1 of this present Order.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows:
From 06:00 hours on Sunday 5th August 2018 until 16:30 hours on Friday 24th August 2018 inclusive.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative routes available will be:
A617 Main Road, Ollerton Road, A616 Ollerton Road (Little Carlton), A616 Great North Road (South Muskham), A616 Great North Road (Newark on Trent), A617 Kelham Road, A617 Kelham Road (Kelham) and Vice Versa.
The Order will come into force on Sunday 5th August 2018 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
“No speed limit imposed by this [Order/Notice] applies to vehicles falling within regulation 3(4) of the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 when used in accordance with regulation 3(5) of those Regulations”
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands Ltd to carry out Bridge Parapet repair works.
