Thousands flock to eighties evening at Newark Festival

A bumper crowd was treated to the sound of the 80s on the second night of this year's Newark Festival.

Thousands packed into the Riverside Park to see Midge Ure, Bananarama, ABC and Tony Hadley.

Fans of the era were out in force, with many wearing colourful neon outfits which were prominent in the era.

A good-natured atmosphere lit up the evening, with the crowd remaining captivated through to the final song.

Spandeau Ballet classic Gold performed by Tony Hadley providing a fitting finale to a golden evening.

The festival continues this afternoon with a free family fun day and a party in the park in the evening.
