The supplier, Western Power Distribution, said: "We are aware that customers experienced a series of short interruptions while our engineers identified the location of the fault and re-routed electricity around the fault to restore power to those affected.

"Our engineers are now working to repair the fault.

"Customers in Balderton and Claypole may also have experienced short power cuts as a result of this fault as they are served by the same electricity circuit.

"We apologise for any inconvenience but do not expect any further disruption to electricity supplies as a result of the fault."
