Ticket machine in London Road carpark, Newark, stolen by thieves
A ticket machine was stolen from a Newark carpark.
It was taken by thieves from London Road carpark, Newark, on Thursday.
The ticket machine adjacent to Newark Library contained a limited quantity of cash at the time of the offence.
It was later found abandoned in a field outside of Newark.
Newark and Sherwood District Council, which operates the ticket machines, said machines are emptied daily and so the loss of money should be minimal.
A police investigation is now underway and it is believed the theft may be linked with similar offences in Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
