More news, no ads

Thank you for publishing the report of our police and Crime Commissioner’s conviction for speeding.

You report that she states that she is delivering on her mandate for her electorate. I don’t remember regularly breaking the law being in her mandate.

Speed limits are set in urban areas to reduce accidents and save lives She oversees an organisation that is employed to reduce and detect crime and criminal behaviour for which she gets paid £765,00 a year salary.

It would be good to see our MPs, county and district councillors calling for her to stand down, but with a Tory Prime Minister being fined for breaking the law, perhaps they don’t see a problem with a Tory Police and Crime Commissioner breaking the law either.

Remember, it is not the case of once, but five breaches within three months. Time to go commissioner. Have some pride. — P. JONES, via email.
