Sutton-on-Trent charity Yasmine McClory Foundation launches fundraiser in aid of Bassetlaw Food Bank and Trussell Trust
After losing their beloved daughter and sister, a Foundation set up by a grieving family has embarked on the next steps to helping others in her name.
The Yasmine McClory Foundation was launched earlier this year in memory of Yasmine McClory, of Sutton-on-Trent, who died suddenly in February aged just 20 years old of a pulmonary embolism, likely the result of her being ten weeks pregnant.
The Yasmine McClory Foundation was founded by her mum Annelie, dad Jason, and siblings Jess, 27, and Ev, 17, to keep Yasmine and her legacy alive by supporting causes she was passionate about, including food poverty, LGBTQ+ mental health, children with learning disabilities, and medical conditions affecting quality of life.
After launching private counselling program for young members of the LGBTQ+ community in November, the Foundation has now announced a fundraiser to help families who are struggling during the festive season.
The Foundation is aiming to raise £300 to buy 60 selection boxes and 60 biscuit tins to donate to Bassetlaw Food Bank and Trussell Trust food banks in time for Christmas.

“With up to one in six families across the UK facing difficulties affording even basic food, we feel more compelled than ever to step up and make a difference,” Jess said.
“We believe that every family should have the opportunity to celebrate and create happy memories at this time of year, regardless of their circumstances.
“This campaign is rooted in the spirit of community and compassion. We invite everyone to join us, whether through donations to their local foodbank, donations to our fundraiser, or simply spreading the word.
“Together, we can bring smiles, warmth, and hope to those who need it most during this special time of year.”
