Reader’s letter: Too late for hospital care
Published: 08:31, 02 August 2024
I welcome Robert Jenrick’s campaign to extend the hours of Newark’s urgent care department.
What a shame he didn't hold similar views when he was serving in the government.
Surely readers will remember that successive Tory governments closed the town’s A and E department, and then reduced the hours of the Urgent Care Centre.
Mr Jenrick’s new-found enthusiasm for public services, after just a few short weeks in opposition, smacks of hypocrisy and opportunism. — DUNCAN BARNETT, Newark.
