Man banned from Newark town centre after being charged with being drunk and disorderly

A man is not allowed to enter Newark town centre as part of his bail conditions after being charged with being drunk and disorderly.

Officers were on patrol in Newark town centre at 10pm on Monday (November 16) when they were flagged down by a member of the public in Kirkgate alerting them to some disorder.

Officers quickly attended and arrested a man.

Joe Heath, 27, of Quibells Lane, Newark, was charged with being drunk and disorderly.

He has subsequently been bailed to court with conditions not to enter Newark town centre.

Heather Sutton, district commander for Newark and Sherwood, said: "My officers are regularly patrolling the town centre and are on hand to quickly react to incidents like this.

"Now a man suspected of causing trouble has been banned from entering Newark until his court case has concluded."

"We will continue our regular patrols and heavy police presence and act on any concerning behaviour."
