The Old Post Office is re-opening on Saturday
Newark locals have a cause for celebration as the Old Post Office pub will be re-opening on Saturday following a major investment of almost £250,000.
The venue, located on Kirkgate, has undergone a complete transformation to offer locals can expect a cosy and homely feel, with a nod to the building’s heritage with references to its postal past throughout the pub, as well as a new darts and pool area.
Brand-new plasma TVs have been installed to show the latest biggest sporting events, and bookable booths with individual screens will also offer the perfect option for those that prefer fewer distractions
The pub will also host a regular schedule of live music and will have a new resident DJ on Saturday nights.
The Old Post Office boasts an extensive drinks menu, including a wide selection of craft beers and local real ales as well as a selection of gins, dark rums and vodkas. Party bowls and a selection of 2 for 1 cocktails will be available with prices starting from £7.99. Low and no-alcohol choices have also been added.
When it comes to food, locals can look forward to more pub classics. Guests can now build their own burgers starting from £6.99 for a double, triple or quadruple chicken, beef or soya with toppings such as classic cheese and bacon, BBQ sauce and Wotsits or Hot Buffalo sauce and crispy onions among others.
An extended range of vegetarian and plant-based dishes has also been added.
