A former pupil of Minster School, Southwell, was found dead in the Lake District on Monday.

Mr Josef Bulman (20) of Westgate Mews, Southwell, had just completed his second year at Durham University where he was studying politics, philosophy and economics.

He achieved five A grades at A-level at the Minster School after moving to Southwell from Cumbria with his family in 2002.

A statement released by Mr Bulman’s family described him as a dearly-loved son and a fabulous brother.

The statement said: “He was truly happy and was planning a career in his favourite subject economics — his studies meant so much to him.

“Anyone who met Jo knew that he was a decent, fun-loving person, close to his many friends.

“The family are so proud of what Jo achieved in a life that has been cut so tragically short. We all miss him so much.”

He leaves his parents, Mr and Mrs Andrew Bulman, brothers David, Jacob and Andrew, and a sister, Jessica.

Mr Bulman was reported missing by his parents on Sunday night after walking back from a family event in Pooley Bridge, Cumbria, to the campsite where he was staying.

A search was conducted by an RAF helicopter, Liverpool Coastguard and Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team.

Mr Bulman’s body was found at noon on Monday in Lake Ullswater by police divers.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious.
