Newark’s Trent Bridge is undergoing a facelift.
Scaffolding has been placed around the bridge while it is repainted in a Nottinghamshire County Council-awarded contract.
Both sides of the bridge are being improved.
Trent Bridge was built in 1775 by Stephen Wright, with footways and railings dating to 1848, to carry the Great North Road over the River Trent by Newark Castle.
This picture of the bridge encased in scaffolding was taken by Advertiser reader Barrington Randle, of Beacon Heights, Newark.
