Trial set for police officer

A case in which a Newark-based policeman faces two charges of attempting to have a sexual communication with a girl under the age of 16 has been adjourned for trial.

Pc Lee Bowditch, 48, who lives in the Advertiser area, appeared before Nottingham Crown Court today where he denied both counts.

The case was adjourned until April 8 and will be heard at Leicester Crown Court.
He was granted unconditional bail.
