Two people taken to hospital with serious injuries after collision on A1 near Newark




Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision on a major road.

Emergency services were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the A1 near Newark this morning (October 18).

Nottinghamshire Police officers were called to the incident on the northbound carriageway between the B6326 at Balderton and the A46 at Newark at around 3.40am, which involved a car.

A man, aged in his 30s, and a woman, aged in her 60s, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed as officers responded to the incident, but was reopened by 9.20am.

Nottinghamshire Police has thanked motorists for their patience during the closure.
