Two men charged with Orston Road Shooting Ground theft

Two men are due to appear at court in Nottingham today, after they were charged with a number of offences relating to the theft of a firearm from a Nottinghamshire shooting ground.

The charges came after Nottinghamshire Police detectives investigated a report of a theft of a shotgun from Orston Road Shooting Ground in Bottesford Lane, Orston on Sunday, November 24.

Rikki Lount, 30, of Ravensworth Road, Doncaster, and Lee Wilburn, 29, of Austerfield Avenue, Bentley, near Doncaster, have both been charged with burglary in connection with the incident on November 24.

Both men have also been charged with the subsequent theft of a Nissan Navara from the shooting ground on Sunday, December 1 and with going equipped for theft, driving with false number plates and receiving stolen goods in relation to the Volvo XC90 vehicle they were travelling in at the time of their arrest on Friday, December 20.

Lount has also been charged for driving while disqualified and without insurance.

Both Wilburn and Lount have been remanded into custody to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 23.

The stolen Volvo XC90 they were travelling in at the time of their arrest has since been recovered and returned to its rightful owner. Efforts are ongoing to trace the stolen firearm and Nissan Navara.
