Two men taken to hospital following serious collision that closed A617 between Hockerton and Kelham

Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries after a road traffic collision.

Emergency services were called shortly after 7am this morning after two cars were involved in a collision on the A617 near Kelham.

The road has been closed between Caunton Road at Hockerton and Ollerton Road at Kelham for much of the day for investigation work and is expected to remain closed for several hours as collision investigators examine the scene.

Sergeant Craig Luckett, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Roads policing unit and serious collision investigation unit, said: “This was a very serious incident which has resulted in serious injuries to two people.

“We are working to understand what happened in the moments leading up to it and are seeking assistance from any witnesses who may have seen this accident or arrived afterwards.”

The police appeals to anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 86 of 11 July 2023.
