Reader’s letter: United in efforts to tackle crime
We are excited to share updates about the Safer Streets initiative, a collaborative effort to tackle the pressing issue of anti-social behaviour in our community.
Our area, unfortunately, ranks high for such incidents, but we are committed to changing this narrative.
In partnership with Cllr Emma Oldham, we are dedicated to working for and with the residents to ensure a safer and more harmonious environment.
If you're experiencing any issues related to anti-social behaviour or wish to learn more about the Safer Streets project, please feel free to reach out to either myself or Cllr Oldham.
It is also heartening to report that our efforts are gaining momentum.
We have observed officers from the district council actively engaging with young people in the area, including interventions near Lidl.
This proactive approach, coupled with Lidl’s collaboration and the council’s persistent efforts, is pivotal in our strategy to reduce anti-social behaviour in Balderton.
A special shout-out to the anti-social behaviour officer for their invaluable contribution. Their dedication is in-strumental in our mission to improve community safety.
Our goal is clear — to bring down the rate of anti-social behaviour significantly.
The support from district council officers has been phenomenal, and it's through such collaborative efforts that we can make a difference.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation. Together, we can create a safer, more peaceful community.
We are putting our political differences to one side to make sure we are working hard for residents. — JOHNO LEE, Newark and Sherwood district councillor.
