DeMontfort University class is an inspiration for Maplebeck author Thomas Pass
A university student has combined his studies with writing his second book.
Twenty-year-old Thomas Pass, of Maplebeck, is heading into his final year of creative writing studies at DeMontfort University at Leicester.
He has worked with Pegasus Publishing ahead of the release of Jonathan.
The fiction book is a collection of short stories, which are intertwined through one character.
“It is connected by a character who is struggling with success,” said Thomas.
“My inspiration for the book came from a class at university.
“Our professor handed us objects to try and give us inspiration to create a character out of, and I got an old, dusty phone case and it started to build from there.”
The book, which had been out for less than a week, was picked up by publishers Pegasus after Thomas entered a competition on their website.
He has been supported by The Bookcase in Lowdham, which has agreed to take copies of the collection of short stories.
