Confirmed coronavirus cases in Newark and Sherwood reaches 7,218 today (Wednesday, April 7)




Three new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Ashfield 9,570 (up 7) Bassetlaw 8,042 (up 2) Broxtowe 7,104 (up 4) Gedling 8,121 (up 8) Mansfield 8,098 (up 27) Newark and Sherwood 7,218 (up 3) Rushcliffe 6,825 (up 1) Nottingham 30,411 (up 8) and Nottinghamshire54,978 (up 52).

In the last seven days there have been 87 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood. This represents a slight decrease in the last seven days.

In the latest 24-hour period, no new deaths in Newark and Sherwood were reported within 28 days of the person testing positive for the virus. The total is sadly at 205.

According to the latest public data, 4,364,529 patients in the UK have tested positive and 126,882 people have died within 28 days of positive test.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to and including April 5 is 31,622,367. The total for the second dose is 5,496,716.

An easing of the national lockdown has been announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

People can now meet in groups of up to six outside and travel to see their friends and families, with outdoor sports finally resuming.

The next easing of restrictions is due to take place on April 12.
