A total of 70 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Newark and Sherwood, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Ashfield 19,002 (up 72) Bassetlaw 17,158 (up 96) Broxtowe 14,606 (up 53) Gedling 16,865 (up 60) Mansfield 16,682 (up 48) Newark and Sherwood 15,505 (up 70) Rushcliffe 15,993 (up 99) Nottingham city 51,751 (up 126) Nottinghamshire 115,811 (up 498).

In the last seven days there have been 593 positive cases recorded in Newark and Sherwood, which is up two cases on the previous seven days.

In the latest 24-hour period, there have been no new deaths reported in Newark and Sherwood within 28 days of the person testing positive for the virus, leaving the total at 224.

According to the latest public data, 8,589,737 (up 49,139) patients in the UK have tested positive and 139,031 (up 179) people have died within 28 days of positive test.

The number of people vaccinated with the first dose up to October 19 is 49,505,327 (up 42,902) and the total for the second dose is 45,433,757 (up 32,767).
