Newark and Southwell crews attend two-vehicle crash in Kelham that put someone in hospital




Pictures have revealed the drama of a two-vehicle crash that hospitalised one person.

Newark and Southwell crews were called to a crash on Broadgate Lane, off the A617, at around 8pm yesterday (Tuesday).

They, along with the help from East Midlands Ambulance Service, extracted one casualty from a vehicle using hydraulic equipment.

The patient was taken to hospital.

On Facebook, Southwell Fire Station said: “Even with this exceptional weather the roads can still be dangerous.

“Please take extra care of your journeys and get home safe.”

  • In a separate incident, several police cars, ambulances and fire engines were called to a three-vehicle collision.

The emergency services arrived on Haywood Oaks Lane, Blidworth, at 4.05pm yesterday.

Inspector Hayley Crawford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Haywood Oaks Lane in Blidworth was closed while we dealt with a three-vehicle collision.

“Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 576 of July 20, 2021.”
