Van crash closes Southwell road
A van that crashed into two houses on Church Street, Southwell, caused the road to be closed for several hours this morning.
The van crashed into two homes near to the Bramley Apple pub on Church Street at 10am.
The road remained closed while the van was removed from the front of the houses and they were made safe by fire fighers.
No one was hurt in the collision.
The houses are owned by Mr and Mrs Andy Wimble who live in one and rent the other to Miss Gillian White, 29, a teacher at Bowbridge Primary School, Newark.
Mr Wimble was in his house 67, Church Street, when the accident happened.
He said: "I was making a phone call sitting in the front window and I was literally dialling the number when there was this huge explosion and what felt like an earthquake. Then the room went completely black because it was filled was dust and there was a lorry in the window."
