Vandalism leaves wall destroyed around electricity sub station in Balderton, Newark

An electricity sub station has been damaged in an apparent act of vandalism.

The sub station — located on Haddon Drive, Balderton — appears to have been vandalised, with the surround brick wall completely destroyed and no clues as to the cause.

A resident noticed the damage over the weekend and reported the incident to Newark and Sherwood District Council, who advised them to call the police as it was criminal damage.

The damage was also reported to the National Grid, who have since inspected the sight along with police.

The resident said that the area regularly sees groups of local youths gather. Investigations are ongoing.
