A burglar who stole £182 worth of vapes from Poundland, assaulted a PCSO, and was drunk and disorderly in public has been sentenced.
Jamie Kavanagh, 52, of Quibell Road, Newark, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on May 30 to be sentenced for a number of charges, all of which he had pleaded guilty to.
On February 13, Kavanagh was drunk and disorderly on Quibell Road, caused damage to a police car and a police van, and behaved in an indecent manner by insulting others in custody while at Mansfield Police Station.
For each of the two criminal damage charges and the indecent behaviour charge, he received a four month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, to be served concurrently.
It was suspended to allow for six months of alcohol rehabilitation. He must also carry out ten days of rehabilitation activity.
£10 of compensation was ordered for each case of criminal damage.
No separate penalty was given for the drunk and disorderly offence.
Days after those offences, on February 21 Kavanagh was again drunk and disorderly in public on Slaughterhouse Lane. On the same day he obstructed a PCSO in his duty, and assaulted the same PCSO by beating him.
For the charges relating to the PCSO, Kavanagh was again handed concurrent four month prison sentences, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to take part in rehabilitation activity.
No separate penalty was given for the drunk and disorderly offence.
On February 22, Kavanagh then stole £182 worth of vapes from Poundland, Newark, having entered the building as a trespasser.
