Views urged

By NewarkAdvertiser Reporter

Balderton Parish Council has strongly objected to, and is urging residents to respond to, boundary review consultation.

Newark Town Council wants to change the boundary from its current position on Bowbridge Lane to the old railway line, now the Sustrans cycle track, and make the Middlebeck development off Hawton Lane part of Newark, not Balderton.

Several properties near Highfields School on London Road are also affected.

This would mean the loss of substantial revenue from Council Tax and C.I.L. funding from any new development.

This money should be spent on the people of Balderton, not Newark Town Council.

Please voice your concerns by Friday, May 25, by saying no to the boundary change.

Contact Nigel Hill by email at nigel.hill@newark-sher wooddc.gov.uk or write to Newark and Sherwood District Council, Castle House, Great North Road Newark NG24 1BY. — Lydia Hurst, Balderton parish councillor.
