Archbishop Cranmer Church of England Academy ranked as a top school in The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide 2019

An Aslockton primary school is the highest ranked state primary school in Nottinghamshire according to a Sunday Times league table.

Archbishop Cranmer Church of England Academy ranked 222 in The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide 2019.

They were one of two schools in Nottinghamshire that made the list.

The other was Jessie Gray Primary School, West Bridgeford which came 230.

The guide lists the 250 highest achieving state primary schools in the UK, calculated by the 2017 SATs results.

The headteacher of Archbishop Cranmer, Kate Watson said the children are proud.

"We announced the news in assembly, earning us a great cheer from the children, they are rightly very proud of this achievement.

We constantly celebrate great work, sporting achievements, success in the arts, take-care attitudes and children acting with integrity so an accolade like this really justifies our approach to focussing on more than just reading, writing and maths. We offer a full and rounded curriculum which genuinely has children at its heart.

"If you visit the school, it’s clear to see that our educational philosophy is about providing a culture of opportunity for every child so everyone has the chance to shine."
