Charity walk from Land's End to John O'Groats and back to raise money for Robin Hood Theatre Company, Averham

A woman from Newark is halfway to completing a 1,748- mile walking challenge to raise money for a theatre.

Kim Laughton, 42, started out on January 4 and has already walked the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise vital funds for the Robin Hood Theatre Company in Averham.

She is now on her way back and hopes to complete the mammoth task on July 3.

Kim, pictured with the theatre youth group, with whom she volunteers, said: “The Robin Hood Theatre Company is extremely close to my heart.

“I joined the company just over five years ago and I have just had a passion for theatre ever since I was little.

“I started as a volunteer at the theatre bar and ever left.”

So far, she has raised just over £100, with all donations going towards theatre renovation costs.

For the last stretch of the challenge, Kim will be walking from the Palace Theatre in Mansfield back to the Robin Hood Theatre, a distance of just under 20 miles.

Kim completed a fundraising walk last summer, trekking 20 miles from the Lace Market Teatre in Nottingham to Averham.
