Walking to work

Three colleagues walked more than 15 miles to work to raise money for Sport Relief.

Customer service advisers Mr Mark Lebeter (45) of Bramble Close, Boughton, Mr Dale Dickinson (25) of Back Lane, Ollerton, and Mr Rob Shaw (24) of Tor Lane, Ollerton, walked to Vodafone on Brunel Drive, Newark.

They left at 5am and arrived at about 10.20am. They hope to have raised about £300 in sponsorship.

Mr Lebeter said while en routethey kept in touch with colleagues in case someone had to pick them up if they decided they could not make it.

“When we got to South Muskham and we were walking towards Newark was the hardest point because that road is so straight and long, and we could see where we were going but it felt like we were not getting anywhere,” he said.

Mr Lebeter, Mr Dickinson and Mr Shaw all received lifts home after work.

Mr Lebeter said: “We had quite sore feet and everyone got home a lot safer and quicker than they got to work.”
