Warm weather for Newark and Sherwood this week and next, says Met Office

A warm spell could soon turn the cloudy weather into something more spring-like, says the Met Office.

After a scorching Easter break, the start of May and its bank holiday turned into a much colder affair for most with cloudy skies, cooler temperatures and some windy conditions on the coast.

But things could be about to take a turn for the better, say forecasters at the Met Office, with most of the country likely to see a return to more spring-like conditions in the coming days and weeks ahead — with Newark and Sherwood seeing temperatures of up to 22C this week.

While Newark saw rain today, more settled weather is expected to follow in time for the weekend and next week.

The Met Office's forecast for the district on Friday and Saturday is 20C and 18C Sunday and Monday — before reaching a nice and warm 22C on Tuesday.

Temperatures could be set to continually rise above average over the next week to ten days.
