Met Office issues yellow weather warning for heavy rain tomorrow (Saturday, August 21)

A yellow weather warning for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for the district for tomorrow (Saturday).

It is due to come into force at noon and last until 10pm.

The Met Office says many places missing the worst, but heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some transport disruption and perhaps flooding.

Flooding of homes and businesses could occur.

There is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray, standing water and/or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus, and delay to train services are possible

It is also warning some short-term loss of power and other services is possible, with possible damage due to lightning strikes.
