Reader's letter: What about non-drivers?
While I am relieved and grateful that the vaccine roll-out is under way in Newark, I have concerns.
The showground is outside Newark, which is no problem for people with a car. However, my husband has been shielding for months because he is a diabetic. We do not drive. Is there likely to be somewhere in the town where elderly non-drivers can get a jab?
I do not want to risk the bus with my shielding husband. We have neighbours who drive but why ask them to undertake unnecessary risk?
All we want to do is to get ourselves vaccinated and come home without bothering anyone.
We can’t be the only ones in this predicament. Walking ten miles there and back seems to be the only way at the moment. — MRS JENNIFER FLORANCE, Newark.
