The Newark Advertiser found out some of people’s favourite Christmas memories

In its weekly voxpop the Advertiser found out some of people’s favourite Christmas memories.

Almost a week since Christmas, what is left apart from food leftovers are the memories of the festive days.

From the presents to the family, people across Newark shared some of their favourite memories of Christmas throughout the years.

Mark Sharp said: “I am a simple family man and I like to have all my family around so the years when I have had all my children, my parents, my in-laws, everybody, these are the things I like for Christmas, these are memories that you can’t replicate.”

Mick and Janice Dickie said: “Our best was a Christmas in France, we were in France, the food was superb, the wine was superb and we had a lovely time!”

From younger to older, most answers didn’t go far from family being together and the memories people had growing up.

“When I was very little and everything was wonderful and you believed in Santa Claus, I had my sisters and I was the baby so they spoiled me greatly, just being with them was lovely,” said Hazel.

Peter Morrell said: “When my grandchildren were born and we had everyone together was one of my best Christmas.”
