What should be the Prime Minister Kier Starmer New Year resolutions?
In its first New Year’s voxpop, the Advertiser heard what people think should be the Prime Minister’s New Year resolutions.
It is nothing new that with the new year always come new promises and intentions — however not everyone sticks to them.
Following that idea, we found out what people think should be the Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer’s New Year resolutions.
To re-think his priorities to resign from his current position, opinions varied across Newark’s town centre.
Denise Robinson said that Sir Keir should give “pensioners their benefits back”, while Brian Botcherby said: “I think he should do something rather than just talk about it.”
Alex said that Sir Keir should focus on the NHS, while Antoniete Du Rose said: “Try to put it all together back again.”
Claire Kawamoto said: “We shouldn’t be judging each other but he could be a bit kinder to people in his policies.”
Peter Taylor added that he should the best thing he should do in the new year is to “leave the Prime Minister role to someone else”.
Mary Evans said: “I don’t think he is as bad as some people seem to think, but maybe he should focus on giving pensioners the winter fuel payments back.”
