Newark & District Round Table and Southwell & District Lions both bringing their Santa Sleighs once again




Those wanting to see Santa with their little ones this year in Newark and Southwell might be able to see him on his sleigh without leaving their street.

Newark & District Round Table are heading out and about with their Santa Sleigh once again this year to help raise money for their chosen charities, while Southwell & District Lions will also be out and about in December with their sleigh.

The Round Table will be setting out on their sleigh on December 8, beginning at each street at 6pm (unless otherwise stated), and Santa's helpers will be walking along with the sleigh and collecting donations each night.

Santa will also be visiting Newark’s Market Square on Saturday 21st, and you can follow his movements on the tracker which will be available on their Facebook page.

The dates and routes are as follows:

December 8th - London Road East & West (4pm to 7pm)

9th - Balderton East

10th – Balderton West

11th - Winthorpe Road Estate

12th - Middlebeck

15th - Fernwood (4pm-7pm)

16th –Beacon Heights

17th - Coddington

18th - Beacon Hill

19th - Farndon

21st - Market Square (9am-3pm)

22nd – Hawtonville (4pm-7pm)

Over in Southwell, the sleigh will be out and about for 12 nights from about 6pm but will stop at 8.30 pm, with contactless card readers as well as cash buckets for donations.

Santa and the float will also be in attendance at the Co-op car park on December 14 and outside the Admiral Rodney on December 21 from approximately 8.30am to 1pm.

Thursday 5th - Morton, Fiskerton, Rolleston

Friday 6th - Southwell: Silvey Ave, Norwood Gardens and roads off Lower Kirklington Rd.

Monday 9th - Southwell: Newark Road and connected roads to Farthingate.

Tuesday 10th - Farnsfield: Esam Close, Parfitt Drive and Ridgeway

Wednesday 11th - Southwell: Halam Road and connected roads, Vicarage Rd to Warrands Close.

Thursday 12th - Bleasby, Thurgarton

Friday 13th - Southwell: Dover Street, Station Road, Lower Kirk to Crafts Way.

Monday 16th - Farnsfield: Quaker Lane to Tippings Lane and Alexander Road.

Tuesday 17th - Westhorpe, Halam, Edingley and Kirklington

Thursday 19th - Farnsfield: Far Back Lane, Station Road and St Michael’s View

Friday 20th - Southwell: Lowes Wong, Nottingham Road, Halloughton Road, then back to town.

Monday 23rd - Southwell: Kirklington Rd, Woodland Drive, top of Leeway Road
