Win tickets to show of your choice at Tolethorpe Hall’s Rutland Open Air Theatre this summer
With blue skies, it is clear summer is well on the way and that means it will soon be time for Tolethorpe.
Tolethorpe Hall’s Rutland Open Air Theatre reopens this year for a season of plays hosted by Stamford Shakespeare Company at full capacity — and you could be there.
We have teamed up with organisers to offer three lucky winners a pair of tickets to a show of their choice, subject to availability, and there are four to choose from.
This summer the company are presenting Shakespeare classic Romeo and Juliet (June, July and August) which has had to be postponed for the last two years because of covid restrictions, as well as Hay Fever by Noel Coward (June and July) and Agatha Christie’s Spider’s Web (July and August).
Tolethorpe Youth Drama Theatre Makers will also present Lord of the Flies.
Described by The Sunday Times as one of the finest things to do this summer and The Stage as one of England’s premier alfresco theatre venues, it really is an experience not to be missed.
The theatre is situated in the grounds of historic Tolethorpe Hall, surrounded by wonderful Rutland countryside.
The auditorium faces an open air stage set within an idyllic woodland glade. The permanent canopy above the audience means no performance is ever cancelled because of inclement weather.
Visitors can choose to enjoy a picnic in the glorious gardens or book a meal in the newly-revamped restaurant.
There is also a theatre bar for enjoying pre-performance and interval drinks, including cocktails for the first time this year, and a spacious orangery where interval coffee is served.
Tickets range from £13 to £21 and can be booked by calling 01780 756133 or visiting www. stamfordshakespeare.co.uk
Or to be in with a chance of winning, just answer the question: In which Italian city is Romeo and Juliet set?
You can then either return the coupon to: Tolethorpe 2022 competition, Newark Advertiser, Units 9 &10 Halifax Court, Fernwood Business Park, Balderton, NG24 3JP, or drop it into our reception.
The deadline for entries is midday on Thursday, April 7, and the first correct entries drawn will win. Good luck!
