Newark's Little Cherry Deli has been announced as the winner of the festive window display
A café and gift show has won a trophy for its festive window display.
Little Cherry Deli, of Martindale Lane, Newark received 954 votes in the competition organised by Totally Locally Newark and Newark and Sherwood District Council.
More than 40 businesses competed for the Newark Wonderland trophy.
Keran Spence, of Little Cherry Deli, said: “We are overwhelmed at the amount of support we received — to get more than 900 people voting for us on Facebook is unbelievable.
“The customers have absolutely loved the tree in the window and have even made some of the decorations for it. We are still fairly new having only opened last year, so having so much support is great for our business and we are hoping to see even more customers now we have won this award.”
Jill Brown, from Totally Locally Newark, said; “It’s hugely important to support independent retailers year round, but at this time of year especially so.
“Every purchase makes a difference, so buying even the smallest gift from an independent store can really drive its success and future.”
