Claypole woman fined over a thousand pounds for a fly tip in Fernwood
A woman has been ordered to pay a total of £1416 for a fly-tip in Fernwood.
Newark and Sherwood District Council were successful in a prosecution against Ms Doran from Claypole, who failed to assist officers in the investigation of a fly tip.
She was found responsible for dumping bags of rubbish in the village in April 2024.
She was fined £660 with a victim surcharge of £264 and a further £492 towards investigation and prosecution costs, totalling £1416.
A spokesperson from the district council said: “It is an offence without reasonable excuse, to fail to provide assistance or information reasonably required by an authorised person in the exercise of their duties.
“We take environmental offences incredibly seriously and we will take decisive action to ensure the contained protection of our environment.”
