Nottinghamshire County Council seeks women’s views on health services

Women across the county have been invited to share their views on improving healthcare information and services.

Nottinghamshire County Council has launched an anonymous survey to find out about women’s experiences accessing health services and information.

The responses to the survey will be used to help decide which areas to focus on over the coming years to improve women's health — with sexual health and menopause among topics in the survey.

In Nottinghamshire, as with the UK, women live longer than men but spend more of their lives in ill health.

The survey aims to understand this, by hearing what it is like to be a woman in Nottinghamshire and what helps to keep women in the county healthy.

This includes understanding what is most important to women about health and wellbeing, including factors such as employment, housing, and the surrounding environment.

Scott Carlton, cabinet member for communities and public health said: “We want women to feel heard in their specific health and wellbeing needs and be able to live safe and healthy lives. It is crucial that we hear from them and understand their experiences of accessing health services so that we can make the improvements that are needed.

“Women aged 16 and over, are encouraged to take part in the anonymous survey, which closes December 20.”

The survey can be found here, and it should take 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Other programmes of work by Nottinghamshire County Council are to address health inequalities experienced by other groups, including men.
