The biggest juggling convention in the world is heading to Newark in 2019.

The event attracts 3,000 participants including jugglers, unicyclists and other street entertainers.

Newark Showground, which has been booked from August 3 to 11, 2019, will host workshops and shows.

It is customary for the event to parade into the host town and perform a celebratory thank you to the local community.

Between 800 and 900 performers will gather at Riverside Park on August 4 and parade into the town via Stodman Street, and then into the Market Place where events will take place.

There will be a fire show that evening in the park, castle grounds or Market Place.

The organisers have suggested that around 4,000 people from all over Europe would be attending.

The idea was welcomed by members of Newark Town Council’s finance and general purposes committee.
