Children at Balderton Village Day Nursery had great fun taking part the Big Garden Birdwatch.
Pre-school leader Rachel Yarnell said: “We made sure that there were plenty of seeds outside for them to find.
“We then set up a birdwatch station in the corner where the birds wouldn’t spot us.
“We had two children in the watch for ten-minute slots where they tallied the birds that they spotted.
“We recorded all of the birds that we saw and then posted the results while out on a walk.”
The Big Garden Birdwatch, an annual survey by the RSPB, asks people to spend an hour recording all the birds they see in their garden.
