Your guide to Bonfire Night events and firework displays in Newark, Southwell, Bingham and surrounding areas
Firework displays and bonfires will be happening across the Advertiser area next month — and here’s a guide to the biggest events.
The Newark Family Fireworks event will return for a fourth year at Renaissance at Kelham Hall, promising yet another sell-out spectacular.
With an increased capacity for this year, the advance-ticketed event will take place on Sunday, November 2, within the hall’s 42 acres of grounds and will feature a display by Dynamite Fireworks Ltd, a variety of food stalls, fairground rides, and traditional bonfire night treats.
Glow dancers and fire performers will also be walking around the grounds throughout the evening for photo opportunities.
Gates will open at 4pm, with the firework display at 7.45pm. Attendees can bring their own chairs for the display, and limited parking is available on site.
General admission tickets are £12 for adults and £7.50 for children aged three to 16. Under threes go free.
VIP tickets will also be available for the event, offering indoor access to the main hall, a private room with relaxed seating and bar, complimentary tea and coffee, a food voucher, and a private viewing area to watch the display.
These cost £25 for adults and £12 for children aged three to 16.

Southwell Rugby Club will once again host the town’s big bonfire night event, on Wednesday, November 5.
From 6.30pm, the club’s Park Lane site will welcome crowds for a bonfire, fireworks, and food.
There will be a BBQ tent serving burgers, hot dogs, and other food options, and bars with a range of alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, and hot drinks.
As well as the bonfire which will be lit at 6.45pm, and the firework display at 7.45pm, attractions will also include fairground rides.
Admission is by exact cash on the door only, at £5 per person or £15 for a family ticket, and cash is also preferred for on-site purchases.
No car parking is available at the site.
Bonfire Night at Norwood Park, Southwell, promises to return bigger and better as it returns for a second year, on Sunday, November 2.
Gates will open from 4pm, with the bonfire lit at 5.30pm, fire dancers performing at 6pm, and the firework display at 6.45pm.
The estate’s event will also have refreshments for sale from local vendors, and hospitality tickets will allow attendees private access to the house and terrace, private bar, a welcome drink on arrival, and priority parking.
General admission tickets cost £14 for adults, £6.50 for children, and under twos are free, with family tickets also available. Hospitality tickets cost £25 for adults and £15 for children.

Limited parking is available onsite, via the Golf Entrance on Lower Kirklington Road only, with pedestrian access via the Halam Road entrance. Torches and suitable footwear are recommended.
Bingham Bonfire and Fireworks Night will once again return to the town’s Butt Playing Field, hosted by Bingham Town Sports Club and sponsored by Specsavers.
Now in its 13th year, the event, on Saturday, November 1, promises an evening of autumnal fun with two firework displays, a bonfire, music, and food and drink stalls.
Gates will open at 5.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6pm, and the displays by Big Bang Fireworks will take place at 7pm and 8pm.
A variety of vendors will offer food — including vegan and vegetarian options — and there will also be a fully licensed bar on site.
Entry to the event will be via the station crossing and industrial estate only, with the Moor Lane and St Mary's Road crossings closed for the duration of the event. Parking is available nearby on the industrial estate and in the town centre, with blue badge holder parking only on site.
Tickets are available from the club’s TicketTailor page, www.tickettailor.com/events/binghamtownsportsclub, and cost £5 for adults, and £3 for children aged two to 16. Under twos are free, and family tickets are also available.
Light up the Night at Walesby Forest also returns this year, for a family-friendly event with two firework displays, a fun fair, food stalls, and live music from Taylor Swift tribute act, Taylored Swift.
The 8th firework event at the venue, it will take place on Saturday, November 8, from 5pm.
The first firework display, choreographed by Fuse Fireworks, is designed for younger audiences and those who are sensitive to loud noises, and the grand finale filled with big bangs will begin at 8pm.
Free parking is available on site.
Tickets are available via the Walesby Forest website, www.walesbyforest.org.uk/event/lightupthenight, with early bird tickets costing £12 for adults, £7.50 for children, and £2.50 for under-fours. Scouts and Guides receive discounted entry.
The funds from the event will help the venue continue to offer experiences for young people, and preserve the woodland.
Ollerton Town FC Football and Fireworks Community Eventwill take place at The Buckley Brown Stadium on Wednesday, November 5.
It is the second time the club will host the two-part event, which promises ‘exciting fireworks and fantastic football’.
Gates open at 6pm, ahead of a firework display from 7.25pm to 7.45pm.
Then, to add to the entertainment, Ollerton Town FC will face FC Linby at 8pm in the Central Midlands Floodlit Cup.

The Radcliffe Community Firework Fiesta is also back for another year, at Bingham Road Playing Fields.
Gates open from 4.30pm, on Sunday, November 2, with a children’s firework display at 5.30pm and the main display at 6.30pm. It is the village’s 9th community fireworks event.
Entertainment will also include children’s fairground rides, live music from the Pesky Alligators, a licensed bar, and food and drink.
Tickets cost £6.50 for adults, £3.50 for children ages four to 17, and free for under-fours, and are available from TicketTailor at: www.tickettailor.com/events/radcliffecommunityfireworkfiesta.
There will be limited blue badge parking only on site.
Caythorpe and Frieston Parish Council will host a fireworks display on Caythorpe Playing Field, on Saturday, November 1.
Gates open from 5pm, with a donation on entry, and the display will start at 7pm.
The social club bar will be open for refreshments, with hot dogs, jacket potatoes, mushy peas, and an ice cream van also available.
Glow sticks, sparklers, and children’s entertainment will also feature as part of the evening’s offer.
Belvoir Castle will this year host a larger-scale firework display from a new location in its grounds, Ladies Field.
Taking place from 5pm on Friday, November 7, there will be a firework display from award-winning MLE Pyrotechnics at 8pm, and an ‘enormous’ bonfire.
Live music and food vendors will add to the attractions.
