Children from across the Advertiser area have been dressing up as their favourite characters to mark World Book Day.
World Book Day is an annual charity event aimed at inspiring young people to read with every child in full-time education in the UK given a voucher to be spent on books.
A traditional way to celebrate the day involves thousands of children in schools and nurseries up and down the country bringing characters to life by dressing up in all manner of creative and brilliant costumes.
